Card for my son

Hey all! Hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the summer! My son's birthday was last month and I forgot to post his card, so here it is. Looking at it, you probably think my son is a young boy. He's not! He just turned 20 and I can't believe how fast the years have gone by. For those of you who are new to my blog and don't know, my son is autistic. So even though his chronological age is 20, he doesn't act his age. But you know what? That's fine with me - I love him no matter what! Ok, so on to his card. I knew I wanted to make him a card from Maui (our fur baby) so I used my fav Cricut cart, Create A Critter and this is what I came up with:

I think it came out pretty cute. Do you see that little face on the pinwheel? I drew that!!! Of course it isn't an original face; I jacked it from my GF Brenda. Thanks Brenda! Head on over to her blog and check out her awesome original crafts - she is super talented!!! Ok, that's it for now. I'll be posting the cards I made for the Sunshine and Smiles card drive for the St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital over the next few days. If you can, be sure to come back on Saturday, July 2nd for some excited news! Until next time, take care!

June Card and Tag Swap

I was at a lost for this month's Card and Tag Swap (CATS). I think I had Cricut overload so nothing I wanted to cut out really "spoke" to me. So I decided to use a CC Designs stamp instead. I hate that my tag is so plain too, but that's all I could come up with. In any event, I hope my partner still enjoys this card and tag.

Please stop by my GF Joy's blog for more info about the monthly CATS. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

I'm so happy for you Jenny! Much love and success to you and Denise!!!

June Secret Sister Swap

Here's another of my Magnolia stamps that needed to be inked. Remember, I'm gonna use all my Maggies for my Secret Sister Swap (SSS) cards until I've used them all. She looks so sad in this picture, though, doesn't she? Well, I hope my secret sis still likes this card. Besides my Maggie, I used the ticket stamp and die from Whimsy Stamps, some mini roses and some Glimmer Mist (even if you can't really see it).

If you're interested in signing up for the monthly Secret Sister Swap, please check out my girl Kris's blog here. Thanks so much for stopping by today and if you're having trouble leaving comments for me or anyone else, do what I did. Whenever I use Blogger, I switch my browser to Firefox Mozilla instead of Internet Explorer. I'm now able to leave comments without ANY problems. Hope this helps and Happy Hump Day! "Do the Humpty Dance!"

Resin flowers

Just wanted to share some resin flowers I made (Joy, I finally made them!!!). I can't believe how easy they were to make. The only down side is they take at least six (6) hours to harden. But that's okay because I REALLY LOVE how they turned out! Let me know what you think ...

Large rose ...

Medium rose ...

Sakura ...

The smallest rose was ugly so I didn't post an individual picture. Now, do I use these on a project or share them? I'll do both! So, if you want some of these flowers, leave me a comment and tell me why I should pick you and how you're gonna use them. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day today! *Note to self: Make more flowers ...*

100+ Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop!

Happy Aloha Friday everyone! Hope you all had a great week and are ready to start the weekend! I know I sure am! Well, it's finally here - My Cricut Craft Room's June 100+ Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop! Whew - that was a mouthful! This is the second blog hop I've been in, and it's so much fun! WARNING - this is gonna be a longer post than usual, so I hope you'll stick around. Enjoy the music while you're reading. Heehee!

Before I get to my projects, I'd like to give a HUGE shout out to the gals I've met on FB in Erica's "My Cricut Craft Room". You all have totally inspired me to use my Cricut more and more and I look forward to doing exactly that! Anyhoo, back to the "Hop"! If you're on track, you should've just come from Lezlye Hardwick Lauterbach's blog. If not, please start at the beginning here, at Erica's blog. On to my projects. If you follow me, you know I'm more of a card and tag maker, and occasionally do 3-D projects. However, for this Hop, I decided to do an 8x8 scrapbook page and a keepsake page for my parents. I put this 8x10 page in an acrylic frame which I'm giving to them tomorrow, as a gift for their 60th wedding anniversary. Actually, their anniversary isn't until August, but I'm one of those people who just can't wait to give people their presents! Here's what I used on my page: Cricut Cartridge Pagoda, paper from DCWV (Cardstock for Cardmaking - Heritage Pack, and Far East Stack), scraps from my stash, and the Martha Stewart Cherry Blossom Punch Around the Page.

The words, symbols, and flowers were all cut from the Pagoda cartridge.

This next page is of our cat Maui. My son volunteers at an animal hospital/shelter and Maui adopted him last year. You read that right - the cat adopted my son! For this page, I used: Cricut Lite Cartridge Meow, paper from DCWV (Cardstock for Cardmaking - Heritage Pack), Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper Petal Patch (maybe retired?), bling from stash, and a mini flower punch.

As soon as I saw this image on the cartridge, I knew I had to use it ... it reminds me so much of Maui!

This tag and the little kitty were also cut from the Meow cartridge. So cute!

Be sure to leave a comment on this post as Erica will be giving away blog candy to some special people who are hopping! After you leave your comment, please hop on over to Lucinda Gibson's blog, here. Thanks for sticking with me and I hope you'll come back to see more of my creations! Until next time, take care and be safe.
