Sister Stamps Release #19, Day 3 - Mochi Pounding!

Happy Halloween and welcome back to Day 3 of Sister Stamps Release #19! No tricks here, just a little sweet treat I made for Jenny of Sister Stamps.   I didn't want to make another treat box, so since I knew that Jenny was doing Project Life (PL), I decided to make a 4x6 PL card using this stamp called MOCHI POUNDING!  Even though Jenny's family doesn't pound mochi, I know she'll find a way to incorporate this card into her PL album.  Right Jenny?  Heehee!  Now, as easy as this project looks, it was a little difficult for me.  You see, I haven't done simple stamping and coloring on cardstock as a project for a while.  I mean, I always stamp and color my images, but I usually cut them out and use them on a project.  THIS image WAS the project!  Know what I mean?  The only embellishments I used were the two sakura flowers on Mieko's kerchief and the glossy accents I used on the mochi.  I was so careful coloring up this project because if I made a mistake, I would have to start the project all over again!  Yikes!  Also, in case Jenny wants to use this PL card for a different project, I didn't add any sentiments to the card.  Anyway, I'm very proud of how this card turned out.  What do you think?

Can you see the glossy accents on the mochi?  I really like the way it turned out.

Do you feel like having some mochi yet?  I do ... especially the peanut butter mochi.  It's sooo good!  Please don't forget to stop by the DT members blogs:  Debi, Eva, Special Guest Designer Cyndi, and of course the Sister Stamps Blog, for more mochi samplings.

Finally, I'd like to say thanks so much again for visiting my blog and YouTube channel, and leaving your comments.  I really appreciate them all!  For another look at this project and a chance to win this stamp, please check out my YouTube video here and leave a comment.  I hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween!  As for me, I'm expecting approximately 500-600 trick or treaters this year.  Yep, you read that right!  The candies and pretzels we give out might last 45 minutes if we're lucky ... wish me luck!  Until next time, take care and stay safe.

Sister Stamps Release #19, Day 2 - Mieko

Welcome back to Day 2 of Sister Stamps Release #19!  I hope you're enjoying all the projects the DT members have made - all I know is it makes me want to eat some mochi!  Yummy!  So, for today's project, I'm using little miss MIEKO.  Isn't she the cutest?!?  I love how her mouth looks like she's eating the mochi balls!  AND, I decided to make another treat holder!  It's an oldie but goodie that's super easy to make.  Remember this one?  It looks like a mini clutch purse ...

Here's Mieko, close up.  I just wanna pinch her cheeks!

For a better look at my treat holder, please check out my YouTube video here.  Remember, if you want a chance to win Mieko, you need to leave a comment on my video!  Now, if you haven't already done so, be sure you stop by the blogs of these talented ladies - Debi, Eva, Special Guest Designer Cyndi, and of course the Sister Stamps Blog - for more mochi fun!  I hope you'll come back tomorrow to see the last image of Release #19.  Until then, take care and enjoy some mochi!

Sister Stamps Release #19, Day 1 - Hideo

Happy New Year!  What?  Is it 2014 already?  Well, not quite yet, but it's never too early to start preparing, right?  Well, in that case, welcome to Sister Stamps Release #19!  I can't believe it's almost the end of 2013 - where did this year go?  Well, to end this year and start 2014, Sister Stamps is releasing some super cute New Years images!  This first image I'm using is called HIDEO.  Look at him eating his yummy mochi!  Isn't he cute?!?  I decided to make a treat holder for some New Years goodies.  I totally copied Bona's Halloween treat bags but did a little something different.  After stamping, coloring and fussy cutting him, I popped him up on a Japanese lantern chipboard piece from the Bo Bunny Serenity collection.  The treat holder is also made with paper from that collection.

So, if you know what Bona's original treat bag looked like, you'll know what I did to make this holder different.  If you don't know, take a look at my YouTube video here. While you're there, be sure to leave a comment on the video and you just might be the lucky winner of Hideo!

Be sure to check out the other talented ladies and their projects:  Debi, Eva, Special Guest Designer Cyndi, and of course the Sister Stamps Blog

I hope you'll be back tomorrow to see what I've created with another cutie chowing down on some sweet mochi!  Until then, take care!

Sister Stamps Chinese Zodiac Collection - Dragon

Happy Monday! This is the final image from the Sister Stamps Chinese Zodiac Collection! Can't believe it's almost been a year - the time sure is flying by as I get older. As promised, here is the ATC holder I made for all the AT cards I've made with the past Zodiac signs. I made it with the wonderful WRMK Envelope Punch Board.

You'll have a better look at the holder if you watch my video, linked below.  It's a simple project, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check out the other projects from the Sister Stamps blog, and from these talented ladies - Patti, Eunice, and Laura. Again, Jenny will be giving away this stamp to one lucky viewer of my YouTube Video!  Be sure to check it out here and leave a comment on my video.  Hopefully I'll have the winners video up by Wednesday, October 2nd.  Good luck to all and until next time, happy crafting and take care!

Sister Stamps Chinese Zodiac Collection - Rabbit

I can't believe this is the second to the last image for the entire Chinese Zodiac Collection!  Well, here we go ... here is another ATC card I made for Jenny.  I'm actually missing two ATCs, since I didn't do the last Zodiac release.  I'll be sure to post those when I'm done.   This cutie is the Year of the Rabbit image.  Isn't she a cutie?

I had to take this picture to show that I actually cut out her whiskers.  I'm definitely not hating cutting as much as I used to.  *wink*  Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check out the projects from the Sister Stamps blog, and from these wonderful ladies - Patti, Eunice, and Laura.

As always, Jenny will be giving away this stamp to one lucky viewer of my YouTube Video!  Be sure to check it out here and leave a comment on my video!  If you don't win, you can purchase this stamp starting on October 1st.  I'll see you tomorrow with the last Chinese Zodiac image, and the ATC holder that I decided to make to hold all the ATCs!

Just A Few Designs, Release #2 - Devlyn

Happy Saturday everyone!  I'm sure glad it's the weekend, aren't you?  If you're hopping along with us today, you should've come here from Suzie's blog.  If not, be sure to start at Elsa's blog here.  Today I'm sharing another stamp from Elsa's Just A Few Designs Release #2, and her name is DEVLYN!  She is another sexy mama, don't you think?  I'm really happy with the way my card turned out.  It's a very simple layout.  The base is a black 4x6 card, layered with orange card stock and polka dotted designer paper.  The next layer is a piece of black card stock which I punched with the MS broken fence punch.  To that layer, I added some twine and a Pink Paislee Halloween flair.  Devlyn was stamped, colored with Copics, cut out and popped up on the card.  Finally, I added two glitter sticker bats on the right corner of the card.

Close up of Devlyn ...

I had a lot of fun making this card too.  Feel free to check out my YouTube video here for some rambling and more shots of this card.  Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to continue the hop by going to Michelle's blog here.  Until next time, happy crafting and take care.

Just A Few Designs, Release #2 - Venom

Hey everyone!  Welcome to Just A Few Designs Release #2 blog hop!  This month, Elsa is showcasing her Halloween stamps!  You should've come here from Suzie's blog, but in case you didn't, be sure to start at Elsa's blog here.  Anyhoo, I don't normally do anything for Halloween since my son is all grown up now.  However, I loved making this card using "VENOM"!  She is part of the Halloween stamp release and she is quite the vixen!  My card is 5x7 and is layered with black and orange cardstock, and the patterned paper came in my DT package from Elsa. That paper was perfect to use on this card, right? After stamping Venom, I colored her with my Copics, cut her out and popped her up with some pop dots. I added a strip of spiders at the top and a strip of mice on the bottom, both were punched using MS border punches. The BOO sentiment was also in my DT package.  Finally, I added the flying ghost and the purple hat buttons to finish off the card.

Close up of Venom ...

Isn't she gorgeous? I really like the way this card turned out. You can check out my YouTube video here.  Thanks for stopping by and hopping with The Sassy 6!  Now, please head on over to Michelle's blog to see what she's created! Be sure to come back next week to see another fabulous image from Elsa's Just A Few Designs Release #2! Until then, take care.

Sister Stamps Release #17, Day 3 - Reindeer

Hey everyone!  Welcome back to Day 3 of Sister Stamps Release #17.  Today's project was made using the stamp called REINDEER.  Jenny told me jokingly that she was very "imaginative" with the names of the stamps for this release.  Hahaha!  Anyhoo, I've been watching a lot of YT videos lately, especially Bona's channel.  She is livelovescrap on YT and she does amazing work.  If you haven't had a chance to check her out, you really should.  So one of Bona's latest creations was a triple easel card.  You can watch her tutorial video here.  The tutorial was super simple to follow and I really love the way my card turned out.  My card base is textured green card stock from my stash (although you can't see it), and the designer paper is from My Mind's Eye, the "I Believe" collection, which came out a few years ago.  Besides stamping, coloring, and cutting out the image, I also punched out a few hearts, to use on the easels, used some snowflake buttons from my stash, and added those little Christmas trees which were punched from an Anna Griffin punch from way back when.  The sentiments say "Holiday Wishes Just for You" and are from another old Hero Arts stamp set.

A close up of the girls flying through the air ...

Side view of the triple easel card ...

So, what do you think?  Will you give this card a try?  I sure hope so because it really was simple to make.  You can watch my YouTube video here and don't forget to leave a comment (on the video) because YOU just might win this fantastic stamp!  Well, that's it for Sister Stamps Release #17.  Thanks so much for stopping in all three days and commenting!  I really appreciate it!  So, until we meet again, you all take care of yourselves and enjoy the last few weeks of summer!

Sister Stamps Release #17, Day 2 - Sleigh

Welcome back to Day 2 of Sister Stamps Release #17.  I hope you're enjoying all the beautiful creations from the design team!  Today's stamp is called SLEIGH and because this image is quite large, I decided to make a Christmas card with it.  I originally had a different project I wanted to make, but it didn't work out.  BUT, I'm so very happy with the way this card turned out!  The card base is red card stock from my stash and the designer paper is from the Authentique 6x6 paper pad collection called "Wonder".  I stamped the image, colored it with my Copics, and used my Nesties to cut the image out.  Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the Spellbinder die that I used.  If anyone knows the name, please let me know in the comments below.  I used a SU punch to punch out the "Merry Christmas" sentiment, which is an old Hero Arts stamp.

Here's a close-up of the image:

Even though the image is on the large size, the coloring is really easy.  You could whip up a batch of these Christmas cards in no time flat!  Now do you see why I love it?  It's another super simple project that's quick to make and you could use up a lot of your paper!  Now, don't forget to watch my YouTube video here and be sure you leave a comment (on the video) because you might be the winner of this beautiful stamp!  Thanks for popping in today and I sure hope you'll come back tomorrow to see what I came up with for the final image of this release.  Until then, take care.

Sister Stamps Release #17 - Day 1, Minoru

Hey everyone! Can you believe that summer is almost over and the holidays will be here before you know it?  Well, Sister Stamps wants to get a jump on Christmas, so this release is all about their Christmas stamps for 2013!  My first project is a super simple Christmas tag, using MINORU.  Be sure to check out the back story on Minoru at the Sister Stamps blog here.  After stamping him, I colored him up with my Copics, cut him out using my scallop circle Nesties, punched a hole and added an eyelet with my Crop-o-dile, and added some red and white twine.  I stamped a simple Christmas sentiment on the back.

Here's a close up of this cutie!

The sentiment ...

Sister Stamps will again be giving away the stamps in this release, so please check out my YouTube video here and don't forget to comment on the video.  You could be a winner!  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you come back tomorrow to see the Christmas card I made.  I love it!  Until then, take care.

Envelope Gift Card Holder

Hey guys, hope you're enjoying your Sunday.  Today I'd like to share an envelope gift card holder I made for my mother-in-law's birthday.  I was so inspired by Bona of livelovescrap on YouTube, that I just had to try and make one.  You can check out Bona's YouTube videos here.  She does amazing work and I love it!

This time, to make my envelope, I used the MS Scoreboard and the envelope attachment, instead of using my WRMK Envelope Punch Board.  This was the first time I made an envelope using the scoreboard and it was surprisingly simple.  So if you haven't tried making envelopes with your MS scoreboard, I highly recommend you try it out.

Here's my envelope gift card holder:  I used MIYAKO from Sister Stamps.  I believe she was one of the releases for Valentine's Day a while back.  Please correct me if I'm wrong!  I also used some washi paper (not washi tape), some lace, hydrangea flowers and some heart brads.  I colored Miyako with my Copics and cut her out.  The back of the envelope is plain and I used a Velcro circle for the closure.  The bottom photo shows the inside of the envelope.

As you can see, it's a very simple project, and you can use it for any occasion.  You can bet that I'll be creating these for Christmas!  Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by and I hope you're staying cool.  As I write this, I feel like I'm either getting heat stroke or am coming down with something.  Until next time, take care.

Sister Stamps Release #16 - Day 3 - Dolphin Set

Do you know what day it is? Come on, you know what day it is! Have you seen that GEICO commercial with the camel? I think that commercial is hilarious! So, you all know what today is, right? It's HUMP day! Bwahaha!  Ok, moving on to my project. Today I'm featuring the Dolphin set. The set comes with two dolphins, but I stamped one of them twice so I would have three of them. I don't know if it's an Asian thing or a local thing, but whenever I make something, I need to use an odd number of items. So like, I wouldn't be able to only put two dolphins on my card. I had to use three. My bling is also in threes, as well as the stars on the bottom right of the card. Hmm, maybe it's just me. ANYWAY ... as soon as I saw these cute guys, I knew that I was gonna make a side step card. Guess who taught me how to make this card? The one and only Jenny, of Sister Stamps! This was years ago, but she came over to my house one weekend and she did a make and take for me and some of my friends. Remember that Jenny? That was a lot of fun, huh? ANYWAY ... geez, lots of rambling today ... here's my card:

I added a strip of blue paper between the front and back panels so that the card wouldn't fall flat.

And, I actually used an old Fiskars border punch to make the waves that the dolphin is jumping from. Can you see it?

I had so much fun making this card and watching the scene come together. I think this is my favorite project from this Release. Now, be sure to head on over to the rest of the DT blogs and check out their creations, ok?

I want to thank Jenny for asking me to help her on a regular basis for her new releases. That means a lot to me Jenny! Thank you! Before I get mushy, I'll sign off.  Until next time, take care!

Sister Stamps Release #16 - Day 2 - Turtle Set

Welcome back to day two of the Sister Stamps Release #16! Today's project uses the Turtle set. These three little guys are so so cute! I decided to make a set of 3x3 note cards. Again, super simple cards, not a whole bunch of embellishments. The one thing I forgot when making these kinds of simple cards, was that you really need to be careful when stamping, if you're not adding layers, or extra embellies on it. Believe it or not, I got the placement of the images and the sentiments on the very first try! Whew! I also didn't mess up my coloring so I didn't need to remake the cards. The only embellishing I did was I used Glossy Accents on their shells. Other than that, I just stamped and colored them. So easy!

Since I had so much fun with my WRMK Envelope Punch Board, I decided to make some envelopes for these cards as well. The paper isn't exactly vellum, but I'm not sure what it is. I got it from my gf years ago and I'm finally using some of it. I like that you can see the design through the paper again, just like yesterday's card. Something a little different than your normal card set.

I'm really happy with the way these cute little cards turned out! What do you think? I wonder who I'm gonna give them to? Hmmm ... anyway, while I think about that, be sure to check out the DT blogs for some fabulous projects:

Sister Stamps Release #16 - Day 1 - Octopus Set

Welcome to Sister Stamps Release #16!  This release is all about sea creatures!  And even though you might think sea creatures are ugly or not very cute, I think you're gonna love THESE!  My first project is using the Octopus Set.  Although the Octopus is the main character, he brought along his friends Starfish and Pufferfish.  What I decided to do with them is make a 4x6 Project Life card for Jenny.  She recently told me that she was gonna start doing PL so I thought making her a PL card with these cuties would be a good idea.  At first I thought of putting some words on the card, like "Under the Sea", or "A Day at the Beach", but then decided not to, since I wasn't sure what she might want to use the card for.  I hope she likes it!

I've been having fun with my WRMK Envelope Punch Board so when I give Jenny this card, I'll put it in this vellum envelope I made.  I thought it was neat because you can see the design of the card through the envelope.

Please be sure to stop by the other DT blogs for more inspiring projects!

Birthday card for a sweet friend

Happy Monday everyone!  Just wanted to share a birthday card I made for a sweet friend.  I used "Mariko" who is from the Sister Stamps line.  The patterned papers are from the G45 Secret Garden and Le Romantique collections.  The HB sentiment is a laser cut from Island Scrapbooking in Hilo.

I hope my friend likes her birthday card.  I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.  Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you all have a great week and until next time, take care.

Yumi & Fumi Handmade - 1st Birthday Blog Hop!

Guess what time it is!  It's time to celebrate the 1st Birthday of Yumi & Fumi Handmade ("Y&FH")!  So Happy Birthday Yumi & Fumi!  Renate and Leanne have been in this business for a year now (officially) and I would like to wish them continued success in everything they do!

To celebrate, Y&FH decided to have a Birthday Hop!  If you've been hopping along, you should have come here from Lisa T.'s blog.  If you stopped here by chance, please go back to the beginning of the hop, here.  Renate and Leanne will be giving away some FAB prizes, but in order to win, you must comment on each hopper's blog.  If you get lost along the way, the full list of hoppers will be available at the Y&FH blog here.  So, for this hop, we were to create something using the inspiration photo below:

I'm very happy with the way my card turned out.  I personally would not have chosen to work with these colors, but once I got started, I couldn't stop!  The colors are so vibrant and happy and it made me feel good just looking at the inspiration photo.  So although I was a little hesitant to work with these colors, I now have a new color combo I will definitely be working with again!  I hope you'll feel happy looking at my card below:

There she is, Yumi Peace Sign.  She is very special to me because I won her in one of the first Y&FH's giveaways!  On to the deets of the card ... It's kind of hard to see all the layers in the picture, but believe me, there are quite a few.  The card base was made out of kraft cardstock, then layered with a bright orange piece of thick CS I had in my stash.  I used papers from the Prima Annalee stack and layered them on more "stash" papers.  I used my Nesties to cut out the white circle and the pink scallop circle, colored Yumi with my Copics, cut her out, and popped her up on the circles.  The flowers and leaves were from my stash, along with the flower sticker, flat-back pearls and the white flower trim under the banner.  I used the Epiphany Crafts Pennant 25 punch to make the banner pieces and stamped "HI" using a super old alpha set I had in my stash (yes, I have lots of stuff in my "stash").

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to leave a comment and wish Y&FH a happy birthday!  You might be the winner of some goodies!  Next up on the hop is Shar and you can visit her blog here

Happy 1st Birthday Yumi & Fumi Handmade and here's wishing you many more to come!  Until next time, take care!
