Tsunami Rose Designs Challenge #9 - Altered Item

 Tsunami Rose Designs Links

Welcome to TRD Challenge #9! Can't believe it's the last week of February already! This week's challenge is to alter an item. The DT members were to alter boxes - either a store-bought box, or one you made. I decided to make an origami box with a lid. I was inspired to make one after my gf Cami gave one to me last year. Yes, last year! And I'm only now getting around to making one! Since I forgot to ask Cami for instructions before she left for vacay, I decided to check out YT for a tutorial. I found a wonderful tut by Bonnie, who goes by sassyscrappers on YT. You can check out her channel here. Bonnie made her box using a 12x12 piece of paper, but I wanted to make a smaller box, so I made my box using a 6x6 sheet of double sided paper. As you know, this month TRD is showcasing the Parisian Daydream printable journal kit, which you can get here.

Here's how my box turned out ...

I'm really happy with the way it turned out! What do you think? Well, be sure to head over to the TRD blog here, for more DT inspiration on altering boxes. Then, make sure you enter the challenge to win some awesome prizes from Daisy herself! Finally, this is my last project for Daisy and the Tsunami Rose Designs DT - but I'll only be away for a month. I'll be back with the DT in April; during March, I want to play along in the challenges! So, until next time, take care and happy crafting!

Tsunami Rose Designs Challenge #8 - Color Inspiration

 Tsunami Rose Designs Links
Welcome to another TRD Challenge Wednesday! As you can see, this week's challenge is a color inspiration challenge, using black, red, coral, pink, and peach. I decided to alter a mini mailbox which my GF, Jenny, sent me. The idea of covering up the flag pole with ribbons came from my other GF, Cami. She gave me an altered mailbox for Valentine's Day and I "stole" her idea. Thanks Cami! All paper used on this project is from Tsunami Rose Designs.

This is the bottom of the mailbox. I used the Parisian Daydream die cut to let the recipient of this project know which TRD paper collection I used.

I'm very happy with the way my mailbox turned out! Be sure to stop by the TRD blog here, for more inspiring projects and to enter the challenge! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to comment - you never know when I'll be doing a random giveaway! Until next time, take care.

TSUNAMI ROSE CHALLENGE #6 - ANYTHING GOES

 Tsunami Rose Designs Links
Hey everyone! Welcome to another TRD Challenge Wednesday! For the month of February, we are showcasing the beautiful "Parisian Daydream" Printable Journal Kit. Today I'm sharing a shadow box card which was inspired by Sabrina, who is craftychica87 on YT. Hi Sabrina!

This is the front panel of the card and the frame.

Here is the back panel/inside of the card, with the frame attached.

Here is the card with the front and back panels in place. The papers are so beautiful, right? I didn't want to add too many embellies and cover up the designs.

So, I added some lace around the entire box, then layered some pearl trim on top of the lace.

To finish off the front panel, I adhered some fused pearls and four light pink mini roses in each corner.

Here's the back of the card:

Since there's really no where to write a message on the shadow box, I used one of the tags and a pocket from the collection.  Neat huh?

I'm really happy with the way this card came out! It was pretty easy to make and I hope I've inspired you to try and make one too. Be sure and stop by the TRD blog here and see what the other fab designers have come up with. I promise you won't be disappointed! Until next time, take care.
