Sister Stamps Release #11 - Chinese Zodiac - Monkey

Welcome back to Day 2 of the second release for the Chinese Zodiac Signs for Sister Stamps. As you can see, I'm using the sweet little monkey image and made a thank you card. Again, I did manage to add some asian elements to my card - the paper is from the Bo Bunny Serenity collection, and the cherry blossoms are from Jenny. The corrugated card base is from Rina, and the bunch of bananas and the sentiment were from an old stamp set.

Isn't he cute? Now why do I call this image "HE" and I couldn't decide if the sheep was a he or she? Well, I guess to me, some animals are just more masculine than feminine. Anyhoo, be sure to check out what the other talented designers have created.

TSUNAMI ROSE DESIGNS CHALLENGE WEDNESDAY #5 - BUTTERFLIES

 Tsunami Rose Links

Welcome to the last Wednesday of January, 2013! That means it's time for another Challenge Wednesday with Tsunami Rose Designs! We're already up to Challenge #5 and if you've been following us, this month, we've been showcasing Daisy's "New Beginnings Printable Journal Kit." Challenge #5 was to use a butterfly somewhere on your project. I decided to make an altered mini paper bag. The sentiment, mini card in the front pocket and the tag in the back pocket, all come with the kit.

I have to say that this digital kit is so beautiful, and versatile. I really love the colors that Daisy chose and also the different butterflies. For all of my four projects, I only printed the kit once and I still have so much left over that I can use on other projects. I hope you were able to pick this kit up and play along with our challenges. Be sure to check out the TRD blog here, to see what the rest of the DT has created. I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

I hope you're able to come back next Wednesday, when we get to show off Daisy's newest printable journal kit called "Parisian Daydream".  The kit is available now, so check it out here, and get ready to play along in the TRD Challenge Wednesdays for February! Until we meet again, take care.

Sister Stamps Release #11 - Chinese Zodiac - Sheep

This is the second Chinese Zodiac Sign release for Sister Stamps and although this card started out using asian elements, somehow it turned into a Valentine's card, and not a very traditional one at that! I did manage to use my cherry blossom embossing folder, the DCWV Far East stack, and some washi paper to add some asian touches to my card. I also used liquid applique for the sheep's wool.

This little sheep sure is a cutie, huh? I'm not sure if it's a boy or girl, but I suppose it could be either depending on how you're gonna use it. Well, that's it for me - make sure you check out what the other designers came up with - you'll be amazed!

Please be sure you come back tomorrow for another card, using the very cute monkey! Until then, take care.

Save the Date - with Just A Few Friends!

Hey everyone and welcome to 2013! What better way to start the year than with a cute calendar to remind you of all your project due dates for the year! The Pride has been shredding paper, knawing on ribbon and playing with flowers in order to get our 2013 calendars complete! We would love it if you would pounce on over to all of our dens (blogs) and check out the different style calendars everyone created!

If you're here by chance, please go to Elsa's blog here, to start the hop. If you've been prowling in order, you should've come here from Suzie's den. On to my project ... earlier this month, I created a desk calendar with one month on each page, for this project, I decided to do a "year-at-a-glance" type calendar. I got the idea from watching Drew Scott's Ustream show. The Melissa Frances hanger and ribbon trim is from Rina, all the flowers are from Prima, the bling swirls are from Elsa, the calendar is from Drew's post on the Prima blog, and everything else is from my stash.

Some close ups ...

So how do you like it? I hope you get some inspiration from it and will create something for yourself or a special someone! By the way, all the members of The Pride now have FAN PAGES over on Facebook! Click on this link and it will take you to THE PRIDE'S blog page where you will find all our FAN PAGE links so you can come and LIKE us on Facebook! We will be sharing not only PRIDE related hops/projects on our Fan Pages, but also other projects we create. We created our Fan Pages with the hope of inspiring all of you to create!

Tsunami Rose Designs Challenge Wednesday - Anything Goes!

Tsunami Rose Links

Welcome back to another Challenge Wednesday with Tsunami Rose Designs ("TRD")! Hope you're all having a great week thus far. I'm having such a great time creating projects for the TRD DT, using the "New Beginnings" Printable Journal Kit. This week is another "Anything Goes" challenge. I must admit that this project was totally inspired by one of my best friends, Jenny. She gave me an altered notebook during one of her visits to Honolulu and I just loved it! While lunching with our other best friend Cami the other day, I mentioned some projects I was thinking of making for this challenge. Cami also got an altered notebook from Jenny and she suggested that I use the New Beginnings digital paper and make an altered notebook too. So, I took Cami's advice, and here's what I came up with:

To this ...

And since Cami suggested I make this notebook, she'll be the recipient of it! I hope you like it Cami (you don't have to wish this time)! Heehee! I used one of those $1 kraft notebooks which comes with a pen, covered the front, back, spine and flap with the digital papers from the New Beginnings Printable Journal Kit, distressed the edges of the notebook with Tea Dye Distress Ink, used Glossy Accents on the green leaf and butterfly on the cover, and added some stickles here and there.  I also used some pearl flowers and leaves, which I thought went perfectly with the color of the papers. Here is the back of the notebook:

Daisy has designed these papers with such detail and wonderful colors, that you don't need a lot of embellishments to create a beautiful project. I also like that she distresses the papers too! As I said, I distressed the edges with Tea Dye DI, but if you'll look closely at the edges of the papers, Daisy's done the distressing with different shades of lavender and purple. Cool, huh?

Here's what the notebook looks like when you open it up. I put a mini calendar on the inside cover, along with a butterfly ticket and the "Reach High" sentiment, both of which also come in the New Beginnings kit. You'll also notice that I covered the pen with some of the DP, and I have four tab dividers inserted into the notebook.

The dividers were made by adhering the DP to cardstock, punching holes that matched the holes in the notebook paper, cutting slits into each hole, then inserting the dividers using the tip of a pen. I'll be doing a YouTube video later this week to show you what I mean. Click here for the link to my YT channel.

So, what do you think? I'm loving the way this notebook turned out. Also, once Cami has filled up this notebook, she can take the dividers out and use them in another one! Sort of like recycling, yah? Well, that's it for this week's challenge. I hope you're able to play along with us! Please head on over to the TRD blog here, and check out all the wonderful and creative projects from Daisy's DT. While you're there, don't forget to comment! We love reading what you all think of our projects.

Be sure to come back next Wednesday for another fun challenge with Tsunami Rose Designs. Until then, take care!
