Altered wooden box

Another post so soon? I know, you can't believe it. Neither can I! Anyhoo, I've had this altered box sitting on my desk for a while, waiting to be posted. It started off as one of those plain wood boxes you get at your local craft store.
And this is how it turned out after I altered it. I used paper from a stack I got at Wal-Mart, lace trim from a local fabric store, the pearl trim from Karla's etsy store, MS butterfly punch, Prima flowers, and a metal tag.

This was the clearest I could get this shot with my camera. The metal tag says CREATE. I thought this worked perfect for the knob of the box.

As I said in my last post, my crafting style has been all over the place. But I'm having fun trying out different things. I've recently joined a FB group and we will be creating journals using only scraps. I don't know about you, but I have TONS of scraps that I need to use up. This is definitely gonna be another challenge for me. Hope you'll come back and visit again to see what kind of project I post next. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your wonderful comments - I really appreciate them! Until next time, take care and stay safe!

  5. I'm in that same group on FB where you alter a book using nothing but scraps. I have seen some beautiful pages and I don't have many patterned scraps so I using stamps and paint as well. I will keep a look out for your pages. It has been so much fun creating with leftovers and brings out your mojo and creative diva! Love the altered balsa box! Where did you get that shape, I adore it! I can only find the oblong ones for eye glasses or the little square ones. I would love to alter one of these and make it look like a shabby chic purs or wallet. I also have that same paper from Walmart it's gorgeous!!! Great choice! Always watching Dekida Hamler
