'Tis The Season To Hop - Day 3

Hey all! Welcome to Day 3 of the 'Tis The Season To Hop blog hop! Have you been inspired to create some of our projects yet? We sure hope so! Again, I want to thank our lovely hostess, Elsa, for allowing me to hop along with such an amazing group of crafters. Thanks Lady!!! Now, if you are visiting my blog by chance, and would like to participate in the blog hop, it's not too late! Just start at the beginning, Day 1, here. Don't forget to leave comments on all the blogs to win some super candy that Elsa will be giving away! If you're on the right track, you should have come here from Kimi's sweet blog.

On to my final project. I originally had made a different calendar project for this hop, but I decided at the last moment (really - just about an hour ago) that the project wasn't very gift appropriate (unless you are a total TWILIGHT fan, like me). I'll be posting that project later (think BREAKING DAWN). Anyhoo, my GF Brenda gave me a post-it note/calendar last year, which is what inspired my project. Here's what I came up with ...

Super simple to make! Took me about 20 minutes to figure out the measurements and the scoring and then it all came together! The base is actually only one piece of cardstock, 4"x12"! Sort of like an easel card but just a little different. Thanks to my GF Cami for teaching me this quick short cut to make an easel!

The butterfly is something I had made a while ago and had it sitting on my desk just waiting to be used on a special project. Can you tell what the butterfly is made out of? Hydrangea flowers! I found a tutorial on YouTube and had to try it. Super easy!

Well, I hope you like my SIMPLE projects I created for this hop. I'm very happy with the way they all turned out and I truly hope you are inspired to give something homemade this Christmas. Now, here's what I have up for grabs:

These are CC Designs rubber stamps, from the Sugarplums line. In order to win these stamps, you must have commented all three days on my projects. Also, in your final comment today, tell me which of the three was your favorite and why. Instead of using Random Generator, I will be picking the winner. Thanks again everyone, for stopping by and participating in this special holiday hop! Please continue hopping on over to Margaret's blog for more fantastic ideas! Until next time, take care. Aloha, Linda

I like how cute it is (love that butterfly, especially, I'm gonna have to find that video tut on YT!), and that it is useful and practical as well. It also looks pretty easy to make, that's my kind of project, quick and easy!

  14. Very Cute idea thanks for sharing

  15. I like day 3's calendar the best because I work in an office and we do our nurses notes on computers. We are always looking for a calendar to check a date and this we could tape right on top of the puter... great@ love it. favoriting it.

  17. Definately scraplifting this project! This is a very functional gift that will be appreciated by whomever gets it! who can't use this!

  18. ‘Twas almost the giveaway
    And my computer was whirring
I was dressed and blog hopping
    Ladies I was hurrying!

    I ohhed and ahhed
As I looked through the sites
    Some are so “very cute”
    Though they’re all Just Right!

I hopped to a new site
    And what do I find?
    A cute little desk calendar
    I want to call mine!

One day had a gift card
This was my favorite I confess
    That looked like a wallet
    I remember her, oh yes!

    The day that was even
Showed a pocket with a gift
    Nestled in another envelope
    Another card that fit!

    I gave her a shout-out
    And cleaned up my room
    Put up my crafting tools
    And put up the broom.

    Falling asleep in my bed
    Dreaming of Sugar Plums
    Something simple and red
Sassy Creations dance in my head.

  19. love your project and i'm so glad that you've been crafting a lot! i especially love the flower butterfly! great idea!

  20. Gosh it is so hard.. I love 2 of them the most.. but I liked all of them. The card hold envelope one is really neat because it has 2 compartments. I am a compartment kinda girl.. But I have to say my favorite for a quick really cute gift idea is the calendar sticky note. I am always looking for a calendar in a hurry as well as sticky notes. This will make excellent gifts for my coworkers. I think I will figure a way to attach a pen with ribbon also. Great project!

  21. gotta love your creation! great butterfly you did! now I will have to try it :) hope you are having a good holiday we go...The Humpty Dance is your chance to do the hump
Do the Humpty Hump, come on and do the Humpty Hump Do the Humpty Hump, just watch me do the Humpty Hump Do ya know what I'm doin', doin' the Humpty Hump Do the Humpty Hump, do the Humpty Hump...LOL!!! have a good day!

  22. Hi Linda, I'm playing the catch up game, checking out everyone's blog. It's been so hectic for me since Hoku's been sick. She is getting better everyday. I'm so happy.
Anyway, this is a great blog hop you're doing! I love your desk calendar. Very clever using the hydrangea petals for your butterfly! TFS
    Merry Christmas!
