It's a challenge!

Happy Monday everyone! Did you all have a nice weekend? I sure hope you did! If you've been following me, you know that I was asked to be on Tamiko's design team. Since she is such a giving person, Joy wanted to share something special with all of you! Of course, you'll have to do a little work for it. Heehee! So, here we go! It's an Easter Challenge and Joy promises that it's an easy one!

Here's what you need to do:
  • Create an EASTER themed card
  • Use any sketch you want - it's your choice!
  • Use only pastel colors
  • Post the card on your blog or on-line gallery and use Mr. Linky on Joy's blog here.
The WINNER will be chosen by Tamiko's DT and will be able to choose ONE of the following Greeting Farm stamps to add to their collection:
  • Camille
  • Ebony
  • Stella
  • Ruby or
  • Easter Anya
The deadline for the challenge will be the end of the month (March 31st) and the winner will be announced by April 3 (Saturday).

The DT made some Easter cards to get everyone in the mood to create for this challenge. Here is my contribution using Easter Anya:

I used the puffy glue again on her bunny ears. Believe it or not, this is the very first Easter card I've ever made! It's not my best work, but I'm happy with the way it turned out. Again, the deadline for the challenge is March 31st and the winner will be announced by April 3rd. Please be sure to check out all the DT's creations here and don't forget to visit Mr. Linky for your chance to win! Good luck!

My son

I am happy to say that he's finally on the road to recovery! I covered his right eye this afternoon and held up my fingers in front of his left eye and he was able to tell me how many fingers were held up! I did this exercise several times and he got them all right! I thank God and all of you for your positive thoughts and prayers for him!

Update on my son

He's not quite out of the woods yet. He needs to see the doctor for three more days and hopefully by then he'll have a clean bill. The pressure in his eye did go down a bit, so that's good. But because there is still blood in his eye, he can't get a complete look at his retina. The doc said that the previous scan showed that the retina was still attached, but he wants to be sure that it is. My boy will be out of school until Wednesday, and I'll be at home with him. I'll update again in a couple of days. Thanks everyone, for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. They are really helping get us through this crazy time!

My son

Nothing crafty in this post. Just wanted to share what I'm going through right now. My son was hit in the eye yesterday afternoon with a BB from an air soft gun. It was a malfunction and unfortunately he had already taken off his safety goggles. Long story short ... his retina is still attached, thank God, but his eye was filled with blood. We're going back today for a follow up, and if the pressure in his eye has decreased, then we can go home. If not, he'll be admitted to the hospital to have surgery to drain the blood. I'll update later. Take care everyone and have a great weekend!

Hawaii inspired stamps coming soon!

InStyle Stamps will be releasing Hawaii-inspired stamps very soon! Being from Hawaii, this is very exciting news to me! I really enjoy the anime design stamps that ISS creates, such as Leila below. I used her on a "bling" folder that I made for my BFF a while ago.

To celebrate the release of the new images, ISS is having a really fun contest! For more information about the contest, check out the InStyle Stamps Blog here. Hope you're all enjoying your week and thanks for stopping by!

Sweet and Wild

Happy hump day everyone! Today's post has something sweet for the good girls, and something wild for the bad girls! Heehee! These are a couple more DT cards for Tamiko's. You may have seen these Greeting Farm images before in digi form. Now, however, Camille and Ebony are out in rubber! Yipee! So, for those of you who enjoy working with rubber stamps and ink, Tamiko's has these young ladies in stock!

Here's what I did for Camille (even though I keep calling her "Bella" from Twilight), and I really love this sentiment:

Can't you just hear Bella saying those words to Edward?!? Oh, sorry, I got carried away thinking about Twilight again. Moving on, this is what I did with Ebony (she's "Alice" from Twilight to me), and she's a "wild child".

I'm interested to know which one of these two cuties you can relate to? Are you sweet like Camille, or do you have a wild side like Ebony? As for me, I'm a little of both. But I'll bet my fellow DT members and people who know me will say that I'm definitely a "wild child"! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy days are here again!

HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY! HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY! Do you remember that cartoon called "Ren and Stimpy"? I thought it was a pretty funny cartoon show, but then again, I have sort of a warped sense of humor (if you know me). Anyway, that's the song they used to sing when they were happy! And I'm singing it now because I'M HAPPY! JOY asked me to be on Tamiko's Design Team! Yay! Of course I accepted, seeing that this will be the only DT I'll ever be on! Heehee! It's such an honor to be including on the same team as some of the finest local crafters around! Anyhoo, our first assignment was to create something using the just released TGF set "O A - Happy Day". Included in the set are several words, and cutie pies Oliver and Amelia. These are my simple creations:

They are too cute, yeah? Check out Tamiko's on-line store here, to pick up your Happy Day set or for some awesome deals. Be sure to check back often, as Joy will be bringing in more "fun stuff" soon! We already received our next assignment, so I'll be working on that next, along with my March OCS card. Being on this DT has definitely given me the much needed "kick in the pants" to start creating again! Have a "Happy Day" everyone and thanks for visiting!

A fun gathering

In January, my BFF Kyoko and I had a gathering of some of our crafting friends. Here are some random shots of us eating, and doing a make 'n take which Kyoko prepared for us.

This is the make 'n take that we completed. You wouldn't believe what this beautiful box is made out of. A Klennex box! It was a project from Stamp TV which Gina K. created.

Here's are some goodies from the ladies. From Janis ...

From Joy U. ...

From Michelle ...

From Claudie ...

From Kyoko ...

From Joy D. ...

And check out these cupcakes that Michelle made for us! What a way to top off a fun-filled day!

Thanks for visiting ... still more to come!
