Super Simple Cards

My sister and I are sending a small gift to two of our aunties who live on the mainland. Since she picked up the gifts, I told her I'd make the cards. Here's what I came up with this morning - two very SIMPLE cards using the First Class Friend Die-Namics stamp and die set. I recently received my first order from MFT and I'm hooked! Totally love their products!

Thanks for stopping by today and always leaving such awesome comments! Have a great Sunday! Until next time, take care.

A Tilda Birthday Card

I finally inked up my Japanese Tilda. There are still quite a few Magnolia stamps that I need to ink up. Hopefully soon. I colored her with my Copics, and the paper is from SU and a DCWV paper stack. I embossed the bottom layer with the CB Swiss Dots folder (my fav!), punched the edge with a super old Fiskars border punch, and stamped the top layer with a foam cherry blossom stamp with Brilliance shimmer dye ink. Got the butterfly at the stamp expo, the cherry blossoms from my GF Jenny, and the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps. I couldn't figure out how to keep the card closed for the picture, so I used small clips at the top and the bottom

Close up of Tilda ...

How the card is folded ...

The card opened all the way ...

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my latest creation. Hope to have more to share soon! Have a great week and until next time, take care.

Happy St. Patrick's Day from Just A Few Friends!

Happy Saturday everyone and welcome to the Just A Few Friends mini blog hop! Be sure you start at Elsa's blog - you'll get to see not only her wonderful project but the fantastic prizes The Pride is giving away! I'm also giving away some candy, so be sure to read this entire post for all the info.

This month's challenge was a color challenge. We decided to use green for St. Patrick's Day. I knew I was going to use my Nobu stamp from Sister Stamps but I needed a sketch to follow. I decided to follow a sketch I found on Scrapping Carolina. Here's the card I came up with.

The DP is from Prima, I colored Nobu with my Copics, and the shamrock was made using four punched out hearts.

Here's the candy I'm giving away: pink acrylic flowers, assorted charms, butterflies, two bottles of Glimmer Mist (Pink Bubblegum & Pearl) and some surprise goodies.

For a chance to win this candy, you need to be a follower of my blog who regularly leaves comments for me. I would also like to know how you would use the flowers and charms should you win this candy. Easy enough, right? I'm looking forward to reading all your comments! Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy your weekend, and until next time, take care.

3) This award is for any co-blogging friend who always stops by and is kind to you. You can count on them to always be one of the great comments at the end of your posts.

4) This award is to be given to 3 to 5 Blends whom you feel meet the listed requirements.

5) Create a post with the terms of use and publish your Blends of Choice.

6) Blend of choice may copy the award from your blog and proudly post it on theirs.

7) Blend of choice may continue the kindness by issuing this award to keep the circle forever growing.

There are so many "Blends" I'd like to share this award with - some who've been with me from the beginning of my blog adventure, and some newbies who always make time to visit me. You all know who you are! Since I'm not good at following rules (hehehe), I'm passing this award on to more than 5 Blends (in no particular order):
Enjoy ladies, and thanks for being awesome blog buddies!

Altered wooden box

Another post so soon? I know, you can't believe it. Neither can I! Anyhoo, I've had this altered box sitting on my desk for a while, waiting to be posted. It started off as one of those plain wood boxes you get at your local craft store.
And this is how it turned out after I altered it. I used paper from a stack I got at Wal-Mart, lace trim from a local fabric store, the pearl trim from Karla's etsy store, MS butterfly punch, Prima flowers, and a metal tag.

This was the clearest I could get this shot with my camera. The metal tag says CREATE. I thought this worked perfect for the knob of the box.

As I said in my last post, my crafting style has been all over the place. But I'm having fun trying out different things. I've recently joined a FB group and we will be creating journals using only scraps. I don't know about you, but I have TONS of scraps that I need to use up. This is definitely gonna be another challenge for me. Hope you'll come back and visit again to see what kind of project I post next. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your wonderful comments - I really appreciate them! Until next time, take care and stay safe!

A scrapbook layout? Yep!

Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well. Lately my craft style has been all over the place. At the moment, I don't have a particular style I'm creating with. I am definitely still loving the Tim Holtz look (vintage, distress, etc.), and of course I still love all things kawaii (cute)!

I've recently joined a ning site called "Scrapping Carolina". I decided to participate in the two challenges going on right now. The first challenge is to create a two-page scrapbook layout. One page should include a flap and the other page should include a tag and pocket. If you know me, I'm not a scrapbooker so this was definitely a challenge for me. These are the pages I created:

The top space is for a picture and the bottom space is where my flap is. It's held shut with the flower.

I stamped a journaling spot on the left side of the flap, and another picture can fit on the right side of the flap.

This is the page with the pocket and tag.  The orange die cut is for a picture and the tag is for some journaling or another picture. The pocket was made using a Nestibilities die and the tag was cut from a Marvy punch.

I used the Honey Cake paper pad from My Mind's Eye. I don't usually use orange in my projects, so this layout is definitely out of my comfort zone.  I'll be posting my project for the second challenge on Saturday as I'm also using it for a mini hop I'll be in with "Just A Few Friends".

Please stop by Scrapping Carolina when you have a moment. The ladies there are a riot and so very talented!  I hope you're able to join us there for the challenges. Until next time, take care and stay safe.
