A birthday card and a thank you card

Hey all! Hope you all had a nice start to your week! Here are a couple of cards I made for some friends. Can you guess what kind of card this is? Does that cake give it away? If you guessed a birthday card, you would be right! I used Mellie, a digi stamp from InStyle Stamps. I really love the anime line of stamps that Virginia has in her store. Go check it out when you can. Since starting up my crafting again, I'm totally getting hooked on digi stamps! What am I gonna do with all my wood and cling stamps now???

I'm sure I don't have to tell you what kind of card this next one is. Made this one using Hippie Anya. I was very pleased with the way it turned out.

Well, that's it for today. I'm working on more cards for more challenges. If I don't post in the next couple of days, you'll know what I'm doing. Until we meet again, take care!

Special cards

Here are some cards that I made for some very special people. This card was for my sweet friend, Jodi. She gave me this cute Kiki La Rue stamp so I inked her up and put this quick card together. I hope she liked it.

This next card is actually a gift card holder which I gave to my dear friend Teri. I learned the technique for the GCH from Teri's class! I'll be making quite a few of these GCHs this year to give away.

Thanks for stopping by today and for always taking the time out to leave comments for me! I really appreciate it! Until next time, take care and be safe. Aloha ...

Finally ... my mojo is slowly returning

See? I did actually create! Simple stuff, but I still created! I made this card for Cami's birthday, which was on September 7th. Hope you had a blast on your special day girlfriend! This was the first time I used this particular TGF stamp and their paper. Love it!

This is Janis's make 'n take tablet! Janis was so funny ... she brought all the notebooks for us, a load of assorted DP, cardstock, and ribbon, and told us to chose whatever paper & ribbon we wanted. She wrote down the instructions for all of us (she said sorry, she didn't type it out LOL!) and we went for it! I didn't have to, but I added the ovals, the stamped image and the flowers to the front of my tablet just because I wanted to be sassy! I'm very happy with the way my tablet turned out!
One day last week, my BFF and I decided to try and make an image/GC holder we saw on Joy's blog, A Place To Be Me. Teri received one of these cards from a friend and Joy and Teri figured out how to make it! These two gals are so talented it scares me sometimes! Anyhoo, Joy shared the instructions on her blog, which I followed, and I made this sample for Kyoko:

I'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out too! I hope she likes it!
Hey, you guys, thanks for stopping by and always leaving me such awesome comments! Getting feedback and meeting such talented and generous ladies like you all has made me realize that starting this blog was the right thing to do, at this time in my life. So, until next time, take care of yourselves, be safe, be kind to others and be happy! Aloha ...

Special things

Hey all! Hope you're doing well. Can I just say THANK YOU GOD for keeping all of us safe during these last few days, as we all waited to see what would become of Hurricane Felicia. As you all know, Felicia was downgraded to a tropical storm, then a tropical depression, and now we are just having lots of rain and wind. It's kinda weird to look outside and see all the gray skies and rain, knowing that it's the middle of summer.

Anyway, on to my post. I was lucky enough to meet two great blogging sisters this past Saturday. I've been "talking" to Joy and Claudette for a while now and it was such a pleasure to finally meet them in person. They are both such sweet gals! Claudette made me this cute HK bag with some yummy goodies inside as a thank you for something I gave her a long time ago. You didn't have to do that, Claudette, but thank you! I also want to say THANK YOU to Joy for the "special" things I got from you too! You gals are too much ...

These next two cards were for some very special people. We celebrated my MIL's birthday this past Saturday night, along with my 25th wedding anniversary, my sister's birthday, and my parents' 58th wedding anniversary. Whew! Did I forget anything? Anyhoo, let me confess something first. I was making my sister's card, but wasn't able to finish it before the America concert. I told her it was coming but she told me never mind, the concert was enough. So I didn't finish it. THEN, I totally forgot to make an anniversary card for my hubby! OMG! I couldn't believe it! He didn't say anything about it, but I'm still planning on making a special one for him too. I'll post both cards when I'm done. I knew that for my MIL's card I wanted to use Geisha Anya and give the card an asian look. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Happy Birthday Mom!

I used this cute Lily & Billy image that I got from Jodi for my parents' anniversary card. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on August 4th, while they were in Las Vegas. I knew that I wanted to use a cute image like this for their card - they are still very healthy and young at heart! Love you Mom and Dad!

I have a few more special things to post, but I'll save that for the next time. Thanks for visiting everyone! Take care and aloha ...

Some cards and a birthday wish

I made these cards for some new friends I met in Blogland. I also included some stamped images for them. Hope they like 'em!

I had trouble with this card. I wanted to use colors that I don't normally use, so I chose yellow and orange. Everything came together until I mounted the layered piece to the card. Boy was it crooked! Sheesh! Sorry, my friend, I don't know what happened! But, I think the card turned out ok.

Finally, I'd like to wish Jodi a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I was lucky enough to meet Jodi one day at J's. Yes, ladies, she is as sweet in person as she is on her blog. The one thing I admire about Jodi is that with all the hundreds of followers she has, she still has time to comment on our blogs. She is such a talented gal and hasn't forgotten us "little people". She is very grounded and down to earth. So, Jodi, I hope you had a wonderful birthday with your hubby, family and friends. All of us here in Blogland wish you the very best!
Now, with that said, generous Jodi is giving away this awesome blog candy to celebrate her birthday! See how she is? It's her birthday and she's giving away presents! If you haven't done so yet, please stop by Jodi's blog and wish her a happy birthday!
Until next time, take care and be safe. Aloha ...
