Tamiko's Challenge #5

I'm back! Yes, I'm alive and well. For the most part. I had some x-rays taken yesterday to confirm a pinched nerve in my neck, which is causing my left arm and hand to feel kinda weak. It's a pretty weird feeling. ANYHOO, it's time for Tamiko's Challenge #5! Take a look at my card ... can you tell what the challenge is? If you guessed FLOWERS, you're correct! The challenge this month is to create a card or 3D project incorporating flowers!

IT'S TIME! SIGN UP FOR THE JULY OCS!

• Summer is here and it sure has been hot here in the islands. The weather is beautiful and I hope wherever you live, the weather is gorgeous for you too! I can't believe how fast this year is going by and that it's almost July!

• So, before the month gets away from me (again), let's do the sign up for the monthly OCS! Please comment on this post and let me know if you're playing. This month I decided to name the "perpetual players". If you see your name below, you are already signed up and do not need to comment, unless you are UNABLE to play in July. If you would like to be added to the "perpetual players" list, let me know and I'll add you. If you're a new player, comment on this post and send me a private e-mail with your full name, mailing address, e-mail address, and blog name (if you have one).

• Now, shall we do a challenge? Well, it's not really a challenge as much as it's a suggestion for your cards. I notice that a lot of cards are being made by using a colored in "people or animal" image. For July, how about you make your card using "words" as your main focal point. I'm interested to see what kind of cards you come up with! The birthday cards in my last post is an example of using words as a focal point.

O.M.G. - Can you believe I'm posting?!?

Good thing the dates are on the pictures so at least you know I created them months ago and just never posted them. So, here we go: I tried, again, to use that Nestie that I thought was really cute. But yet again, the card came out ugly. Like I said, I "tried". I'm gonna try again - I'm not gonna give up until I can make a pretty card with this Nestie!!!

Hey friends! I don't know what I was thinking. Obviously I wasn't. Anyhoo, it's time to sign up for the June OCS! For this month's OCS, I thought I'd have a "requirement". Don't worry, it's nothing difficult! For your partner's card, use something that is a FAVORITE of yours. It could be your favorite color, favorite image, favorite embellie, whatever you like the best. I hope this "requirement" will help you with your card design! Nothing crafty today ... but the BIG day is finally here!

Happy Aloha Friday everyone! It's been a while since I've posted anything, but hopefully I'll get back to it soon. Thanks for following me and being patient. Today is the day my son graduates from high school. Lots of mixed emotions flowing through me and my family. Excitement, worry, joy, anticipation ... because my son has had his fair share and more of difficulties during his short life, this day is such a blessing to us. My son has been the victim of bullying since he was in the first grade. This followed him all through his school years, even as recent as last month. It's been a very difficult and extremely long journey for him and even more so for me as his mother. Seeing your child so broken and hurt is something I hope none of you mothers will experience. But I guess, that's life. God has been a huge part of my life and I wouldn't have made it without him. My son is finally starting to realize that God is there for him as well, and has been with him during all those difficult moments.

I'm off to start our busy day and night. Take care of yourselves and teach your children well. I know I did and still am. I can't wait to see what the good Lord has in store for my son! Have a great weekend everyone!
